It's That Time Again...

School is right around the corner, and as usual I do not feel like shopping for clothes just for the new academic year. But I am still on the lookout for my next favorite sweater. My favorite was a J. Crew bright red shawl... but I accidentally shrank it a size too small! I was so bummed because it was classy, practical, and cozy. But J. Crew never lets me down for too long. I spotted a cardigan sweater that's a bit more fancier than your average cardigan.

It looks so lightweight, feminine, and perfect for everyday wear. Hmmm... I will wait until the sale to decide.

A similar style at Banana Republic caught my eye as well. This one seems very flattering because there's a bit more fabric near the ribcages... so you can button up for winter!

I work so I can play..

One of the things that helps me wake up at 6:30 for work is getting the chance to wear business casual attire. I enjoy wearing skirts, dresses, pretty blouses. To top it off, I can wear heels without having to walk for miles... Don't forget make-up and accessories! It is fun playing dress-up now that I'm a "grown-up."

Here's a little outfit I just picked out from polyvore:

Normally, I wear clothes from Banana Republic because they cater to career-driven, petite women. Plus, the quality is great (who else offers wool pants and comfy cardigans at affordable prices?) Their style is unique yet classy, so I don't have to worry about buying a new outfit every season. I've been wearing some of their clothes year after year. Another great place to shop is J. Crew, but their clothing a bit more pricey and flatter long and lean women.

Fight the good fight, finish the race

This past Friday morning, I got up early to run 8.0 miles. I was really determined to finish it, and though it took a lot of mental struggle I did it. One of the best parts of running is enjoying the sweet moment at the end. I enjoy breathing in the ocean breeze, drinking from my water bottle, and feeling the success of another great run. I feel a sense of accomplishment, and I'm encouraged to keep exercising.

But now that I'm taking running as my hobby, I am interested in finding the right apparel to enhance my performance. I have my tennis outfits that I normally wear, but I feel like I need more form-fitting clothes. I was at Sport Chalet recently, I found a lot of cute apparel from Nike and Adidas.

I don't know if I would wear those biker shorts.. a bit daring for me. But I like the sleeveless racer back tanks because they increase flexibility. The track jacket is also good for warming up so the muscles don't tighten up in the cold. I'm always tempted to wear long sleeves and long pants, but I know that once I start running I'll get warm. So I'll just look for some sleeveless tanks when I go shopping for gym apparel.

A Mom and Daughter Team

With the recent good news of Euna Lee and Laura Ling returning back home, I'm seeing more photos of their families. Mrs. Lee's daughter is a cutie! They both dress in a fun and comfortable style. They keep it light and practical with jeans or sundresses. And I like how they both wear hats to block out the harmful UV rays. Good call, Mom!

There is a lot of press on Michelle Obama and her great sense of style as well. With her famous J.Crew cardigan worn on a late night talk show and bold yet sophisticated dresses by American designers, her outfits capture the essence of classic, ready to wear ensembles. She's like a modern day Audrey Hepburn. How does she manage to take on so many roles? I give props to her.

J. Crew has a line for children, and the apparel is adorable. They're similar to the ones for adults, but available in smaller sizes for your little ones! It's too bad that the prices don't shrink with sizes.

Welcome

I am using this blog as an outlet to share my daily finds. This will be mainly a fashion blog, but I plan on venturing off to other passions as well.

A little bio about me:
I'm a practical student with a taste for comfort. I'm a girlie girl inside and out although I was tomboy when I was younger. Some of my favorite designers include: Nanette Lepore, Trina Turk, and Kate Spade.

Enjoy! :)
